Chic Riot Spotlights: Bianca

In a few sentences tell us about yourself

I am a free spirited professional and creative from Chicago, Illinois. Living with regrets is one of my biggest fears because I don’t want to look back and wish I did “that one thing.” Traveling is where my peace lives and art is who I am.

Who or what got you into riding?

I’ve been interested in riding motorcycles since I was very young, 10 or 12. I distinctly remember one of my friend’s dads picking her up on his purple bike (can’t remember what kind) and I was like “I need one of those.” I constantly told my mom I would get one, she would try to talk me out of it, but deep down, she knew I would. It wasn’t until recent that I decided to purchase my first motorcycle. I didn’t want to ride alone and my boyfriend said that he wanted to ride for a long time as well. I wanted to learn from someone about riding smart, safe, and inclusively. I didn’t know any women in Chicago that ride and none of my lady friends had interest in riding, so I went for it when the opportunity struck. It was one of the best and freeing decision that I could’ve made.

What do you ride? And what does your bike say about you?

My 364lb baby is a 2013 Honda CBR250R. I chose her because everything stopped when I saw her. The fit was perfect physically, since I’m micro mini, and visually I was sold because I like vibrancy. Like me, she is vibrant but easy going with a little bit of aggression.

How does it feel to be a female rider in this male dominated sport/lifestyle?

It feels amazing to be a female in a predominantly male dominated sport/lifestyle. I’ve always been that girl that was just a prettier version of “one of the guys.” Being able to talk about things that many people wouldn’t expect a woman to talk about gives me a chance to show everyone how dynamic women are. We’ve definitely come far, but people don’t know just how far we can really go.

What is the most memorable experience or most fun you've had since riding?

My most memorable experience was my first biker wave. It’s something about those two fingers pointed down in passing that gave me butterflies.

Bonus question: What is your go to wings flavor, and also flats or drumsticks?

If it’s not honey bar-b-que with a dash of buffalo sauce, I don’t want it. And I’m not difficult so I’m all about the drumsticks. I hate fighting with my food lol.
